Ticket statuses
Understand the five ticket statuses and use a consistent workflow to record decisions, responsibility, and completion.
A ticket's status tells the team where the work stands. Use it with an assignee, who owns the next action, and Comments, which explain the decision or progress.
Status is separate from priority. Priority indicates importance; status records progress. Completing a High-priority ticket does not change its priority.
What each status means
We recommend these meanings so everyone reviewing a report uses the same language:
- None: the ticket is waiting for an initial response. This is a status label, not an indication that no issue exists.
- Accepted: the team agrees to address the finding. Assign an owner and record the next action.
- Completed: the agreed action is finished. Record what changed and where the correction can be checked.
- Rejected: the team does not accept the finding. Explain why, with a supporting drawing, specification, or other reference.
- Cancelled: the action is no longer needed. For example, the scope changed or another ticket covers the work. Identify the reason and link or name the replacement ticket where applicable.
The distinction between Rejected and Cancelled is the decision: Rejected means the finding is not accepted; Cancelled means the action is no longer being pursued.
These are recommended team conventions. ArchiBoost lets you change status without requiring a fixed sequence.
Recommended workflow
The normal path is None → Accepted → Completed.
- Review the ticket while it is None. Read its description and recommendation, open the linked documents, and decide the next action with the responsible team.
- Set Accepted when the team agrees to address it. Assign an owner and add a comment stating the action and any coordination needed.
- Set Completed when the agreed work is finished. Record the correction and its document reference so another reviewer can follow the outcome.
For example, a clearance issue starts as None. The electrical team agrees to revise the layout, so it becomes Accepted. After the revised detail is ready and the agreed coordination is complete, the team records the revision and marks it Completed.
If the team does not accept the finding, choose Rejected and explain why. If the work is no longer needed, choose Cancelled and record what changed. Neither requires passing through Completed.
Change a ticket's status
- Open the review's Tickets tab and locate the ticket.
- Select the status icon beside the ticket number or title. A ticket with status None uses an empty circle.
- Choose a status from the menu.
- Confirm that the ticket shows the new status. If a save error appears, retry before moving on.
You need edit access. If the status control is disabled, ask the review manager to check your permission.
The Pending quick filter includes None and Accepted. Completed includes Completed only. A ticket may disappear from your current filtered view after its status changes; clear the filter or select its new status to find it again.
Handle blocked or reopened work
Keep a ticket Accepted while an agreed action is waiting for information or another discipline's response. Explain the outstanding item in Comments and identify who needs to respond. There is no separate Blocked status in the menu.
If completed work needs further action, change the status back to Accepted. Add a comment explaining what remains and confirm the assignee. You can also return a Rejected or Cancelled ticket to Accepted if the team agrees to take it on.
Use None when a ticket needs a new initial review and the team has not yet agreed to act.
Record the reason for a change
Add a comment when completing, rejecting, cancelling, or reopening a ticket. Include enough context for someone who was not part of the discussion.
Examples:
- Completed: “Revised the clearance on E-201, detail 3, in the October 30 issue. Coordination with Architectural is complete.”
- Rejected: “This ticket refers to the earlier equipment layout. See E-201, revision 4, for the current arrangement.”
- Cancelled: “The equipment was removed from the project scope. No drawing change is required for this ticket.”
- Reopened: “The latest equipment dimensions require another layout change. Electrical will update detail 3.”
Comments and assignments do not change status automatically. Update each separately so the ticket's discussion, ownership, and status tell the same story.
