Work with project calculators

Set up building inputs, generate a Code Summary, and understand the separate save states for inputs and floor plans.

Open a project and choose Calculators. Each calculator has its own code bundle and building inputs. Create a calculator or open an existing one; use its tabs to move between Input, Code Summary, and Floor Plans.

Enter and save building information

In Input, configure the building, stories, and spaces and complete the questions for the selected bundle. You can import building information with AI where offered; review the extracted values before saving.

Use Save to persist input changes. The Saved or Unsaved badge on Input describes the building information. Use Run and select Code Summary to generate the supported output. Resolve required-answer errors before submitting, then review the generated sections and citations in Code Summary.

Check the save state for the active tab

The Floor Plans tab saves its plan separately from building inputs. Its badge can show Loading…, Saving…, Saved, Unsaved, Not saved, or On this device.

Saving building inputs does not confirm that a floor plan has synced, and a saved plan does not confirm unsaved building edits. Check the indicator in each tab before leaving. On this device means the plan is stored locally and still needs to sync; Not saved indicates a failed save.

See Floor Plans for creating, switching, and saving plans. Confirm the calculator's code bundle when starting another analysis; Code Library explains how to inspect the sources.
