Configure submittal review routing

Choose Autodesk creation defaults and map specification review templates for new Procore submittals.

Open CA → Configuration → Submittals. In Creation defaults, choose an available Creation route, its eligible Responsible contractor or Submittal manager, and a Default item type. The route depends on Autodesk project settings. If Autodesk requires fields CA cannot supply, the route is disabled or marked blocked; choose a supported route or fix the Autodesk setup.

Under Specification review templates, choose a Default review template for submittals without a more specific rule. Search or expand the Autodesk specification catalog to set division and individual specification overrides. An individual rule takes priority over an inherited division rule, which takes priority over the project default. One template is used per submittal, and changed mappings apply to new transfers.

Choose Send to manager when a template is not appropriate. With no available review templates, new destination submittals go to the manager with attachments and stop at Prepare for review; the manager sets up review in Autodesk. If saved templates or specification rules are marked unavailable, restore catalog access or select an available template before syncing.

Under Sync scope, new submittals enter this destination when the connected Procore account or an Additional approval workflow email is actively assigned to review. Already linked submittals keep syncing. Set the Review due date policy for automatic review and turn on Sync closed responses if closed Autodesk responses should go back to linked Procore submittals.

Save Configuration and recheck Submittal setup. The creation defaults are checked against Autodesk again before each item is created; use the Dashboard to see the outcome of each transfer.
