Use a Group chat

Open a project chat to your organization so teammates can read and participate in the conversation.

A Group chat is a project chat that is no longer private to one person. It becomes available to your organization for collaboration on the same conversation.

  1. Open a project chat.
  2. In the chat header, click Private.
  3. Review the access dialog and choose Make public. The current dialog grants organization members edit access to read and ask questions.
  4. Tell teammates where to find the project chat. They may need to refresh before new updates appear.

In Group mode, organization members can read the existing conversation and ask follow-up questions directly in that same chat.

You can recognize a Group chat by the Group status in the header. Group access remains within the organization. Some older or differently configured chats may be view-only, in which case other members cannot ask questions in that conversation.
