Archiboost vs. UpCodes and ICC for project code analysis

Why project context, cited reasoning, and a reviewable zoning workflow matter when an architectural code question becomes a design decision.

A difficult building-code question rarely ends at the right section number. An architect needs to understand how a requirement applies to a specific use, configuration, code edition, and set of project conditions. The useful answer explains the reasoning, identifies the assumptions, and gives the team sources it can check.

That is the work Archiboost Project Copilot is built to support: turning code research into a project analysis the team can review and carry forward.

What UpCodes and ICC already offer

UpCodes Copilot and ICC Digital Codes are serious options for code research. UpCodes Copilot offers cited answers, project context, and document uploads. ICC AI Navigator supports code questions and conversational follow-ups within Digital Codes. Both provide more than keyword search.

For a team evaluating those tools alongside Archiboost, the decision should include what happens after the answer arrives. Can reviewers connect it to project documents, inspect the assumptions, and develop the analysis into a deliverable? Archiboost brings those activities into its project workspace, alongside drawing QA/QC and firm knowledge.

Our internal code Q/A evaluation, last run on May 29, 2026, scored Archiboost at 98.2 out of 100, compared with approximately 62 out of 100 for the evaluated UpCodes setup. These are historical internal test scores, rather than universal percentage accuracy or a guarantee of today's results. ICC was not tested. Performance depends on the questions, sources, and product configuration; these results support our focus on project-aware code reasoning within the evaluation's scope.

Give a complex question the context it needs

Consider an office renovation with a proposed training area. The team wants to understand how the intended use affects occupant-load and egress assumptions. A useful analysis needs the applicable code edition, the proposed layout, the use of each space, and any relevant local requirements. It should also expose missing facts before the team relies on a conclusion.

In Archiboost, reviewers can select a code bundle and project folders, add relevant firm reference material, and ask Rus to explain the question against that context. They can follow up when a condition changes or a source needs clarification.

Code citations identify relevant chapters and sections. Document citations point to the source PDF page, so the reviewer can compare the response with the drawing, specification, or report. The citation guide explains how to inspect those sources. This makes a synthesized explanation something the team can interrogate and refine.

Build a repeatable zoning workflow

The same approach extends to early site assessment. Archiboost's Zoning Analysis workspace uses an address, a selected municipal code bundle, and project intake information to generate cited sections on a saved project canvas.

Reviewers can edit the sections, record approvals, inspect the inputs, and revisit earlier revisions. An edit marks a previous approval as stale, making another review visible in the workflow. Sections can be exported to CSV or XLSX; an experimental Revit schedule export is available where enabled.

For a firm assessing several sites or managing projects across supported jurisdictions, this provides a consistent structure for the work. Local code availability, edition, site facts, overlays, and authoritative sources still need confirmation for each project. Coverage should be checked before starting an assessment.

Why choose Archiboost?

Choose Archiboost when your team wants cited project analysis, a reviewable zoning canvas, and a path into its Revit workflow. These connections make it a strong fit for firms that want to carry research into project work. A generated explanation starts the review; the design team verifies the source and interpretation, resolving questions with the responsible specialist or authority when needed.

Try a code question with a real project condition, then ask us to demonstrate the path from source citation to reviewed analysis. That is the most useful way to see where Archiboost can improve your team's work.
